George!

Friday Katie and I took Drew to the Children's Museum of Memphis because they have a traveling exhibit of Curious George there right now. Drew can say "George" very well now and has lots of George stuff, such as multiple stuffed animals and books, and we often watch him on PBS in the mornings. It seemed like his first thought at the museum was that he was able to run around at this place and we didn't tell him not to go anywhere for once. If anyone is in need of some exercise we will be happy to loan him to you and let you chase after him there. After checking out a couple of things at the front we found George and drew yelled out his name and started running towards it. They also had a putt putt game at the George exhibit, and as Drew has golf clubs at home, he was probably in his own little heaven as he picked up a putter and ball to walk around with for most of the time. He was a little leery of the fire truck, police car, and police motorcycle at first, but he warmed up to them a second time around. It didn't take twice for him to get excited about the airplane though, and loved going up into the cockpit and playing with the toy airplanes. His other favorite spot was the play area for children under four, where he loved to run up and down the slide and played house, even setting up his own dinner and taking a bite of fake chicken as his parents cringed. We look forward to taking him back as he grows up and gets a little older and able to do more there as it's really geared for children about 6-10 or so. Although, Katie says she is not going to allow him to climb in the mousetrap, caged jungle gym, as she describes it, because she got stuck behind a scared kid that wouldn't move in it when she was little.

That night Mom and Dad went out on a date night with our friends Jason and Denise Cox to the Melting Pot. We like to eat there because it's good food, a fun idea, a cozy atmosphere, and takes a long time, making dinner a fun event (don't tell our group that I think it is a little pricey for what it is though).
