Need A Quarterback Coach?

I taught Drew to say this back in the summer when he first started to learn to throw the football. At the time Memphis had just lost two quarterbacks to transfer, and I was hoping maybe Drew would say it to Coach West at the Tiger Fan Day. Unfortunately, Drew was very shy around Coach West, but at the time it seemed that Memphis would be fine at QB with Arkelon Hall here and Will Hudgens returning also. However, as my last post foretold, Memphis did find a new way to lose another game, this time by losing both of these quarterbacks at East Carolina the Saturday before last. The Tigers got crushed in the second half after taking a lead into halftime. This last Saturday it was time for two new quarterbacks, Brett Toney and Tyler Bass, to step up against Southern Miss. They both did very well, but alas, the situation worsened when Bass went down for the season as well. So now we are left with only Toney, who is a hometown boy and a feel good story after leading us to a win over USM, but does not have the best arm. And thus we are once again faced with the question, "need a quarterback, Coach?"

Last Saturday, the 18th, we had a great time at the pancake breakfast at the Arlington Fire Station. Drew got to eat some pancakes and check out the fire trucks. Then we watched the Tiger game, and that night we went to the Fall Harvest on the town square in Arlington. This last Saturday, the 25th, we woke up early for the Race for the Cure, then tailgated before the Tiger game against Southern Miss. Thursday the 24th Katie and I drove to Atlanta for me to take Step 2 CS the next day. It wasn't all that bad, but definitely not worth a thousand bucks. At least I felt pretty good about it and feel for sure that I passed. Now onto studying for Step 2 CK, which stands for Clinical Knowledge and is a standardized multiple choice test that I will take at a testing center here next month. I am still at LeBonheur for my second week of two weeks on pediatric infectious diseases. We are consulted for difficult infections or for antibiotic recommendations. Next week I start two weeks of Skin Oncology. Drew is going to be a tiger for Halloween. He wore his outfit to the last football game, so there are preview pictures, with more to come after Friday.

Here are some pictures from the pancake breakfast, the race, and this weekend's game. Also a picture of Drew with my "My Buddy" that my mom found last weekend. Drew held his hand during the car ride.
