This weekend is a "Golden Weekend" for me, meaning that I have both Saturday and Sunday off! Of course, this is what normal people simply call weekends. And I had to work 13 straight days to save up for two days off in a row. And I was on call three times over that span, including Thursday, which happened to be our 4th Anniversary. So Katie and I went to see one of our favorite bands, Better Than Ezra, last night at the Snowden Grove Amphitheater down in Southaven. It was a pretty nice place, we had never been before, and although the crowd was a little sparse, they put on a nice show. If you have never seen them, their lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter Kevin Griffith is a great entertainer. He is great at interacting with the crowd and mixing in different songs with their own, or simply just "breaking it on down" as he is so good at doing as well. Plus, Katie likes to go so she can see him shake it. I told you she was a pretty big groupie. Today we went with Drew to the park. It was beautiful weather for a family day at the park. We played on the playground and the swings, watched a baseball game going on, and fed the ducks, turtles, and fish at the pond. I'm looking forward to some time relaxing this afternoon and hopefully watching some golf tomorrow. Then it's back to the hospital on Monday.
Here are a couple of pictures from the end of the Music in the Park series in Somerville, where they have different bands play each Thursday night in June. At the last one they have fireworks for the 4th. Unfortunately, Drew was a little sick on the weekend of the 4th, so these ended up being the only fireworks we went to see. Somehow we really haven't taken that many pictures over the last month and we didn't take the camera with us last night or today. I'm sure we will make up for it soon.

Yay for two day weekends! With my new job I generally don't get two days off in a row either. We were talking yesterday and we think I may be working more hours than the hub! =)
