Baby Dedication(s)

Dedications because it was Allie and also Drew who got dedicated at church last week. We weren't really going to a church regularly and thus never had him dedicated after he was born. So when Bellevue Arlington asked if we wanted to have Allie dedicated last weekend we asked that Drew get dedicated too. They of course said yes and so it became a family event. However, as our pastor said, it is more of a parent dedication. We don't believe that the dedication is magic or brings salvation, but it is a commitment to raise our children in a Godly home and raise them up in the Word of the Lord. We also pray over the children and parents. Our family was able to come and it was a special time for us. It was also extra special because our good friends the McKees also had their new baby dedicated at the same time. Allie and Drew both did great. She was pretty quiet, at least through the ceremony. Katie had to take her out to feed her afterwards. And Drew thought it was the coolest thing being in big church with us and getting to see what we did in church. He was really worried that we didn't have a craft time though. Afterwards we all went to lunch at the only place to go after church in Arlington, El Mezcal. The pictures of us on stage didn't turn out that great, but we took some afterwards.
