Father's Day in the PICU

Last Sunday I had a guest call in the PICU. It also happened to be Father's Day. Now, I can't complain as it was my only guest call for the entire month. But still. It would have been nice to be with my children on Father's Day. Luckily, Katie and her mother brought them all up to LeBonheur for a visit! They brought me cards- one from Katie and one from Drew and Allie that had a squirrel and some drawings from Drew on it, Drew's Sunday School projects from church including a doorknob hanger with #1 Dad on one side and a Dad Sleeping sign on the other, Jimmy John's for lunch, and a chocolate chip cookie cake- my favorite. It was great to see them and it put a smile on my face for the rest of the night. It was also Drew's first time to the new hospital, which he had been waiting to see for months and months now. He loved getting to finally see it and walk around in it. The nurses caught a glimpse of everyone and oohed and awed over all my presents. They had already given me my other presents- clothes from Vineyard Vines!

Drew is still in a stage where he doesn't want to take real pictures these days. It probably has something to do with the fact that we have taken several thousand of him or so. Anyways, you can see that Allie is wondering what in the heck we are doing.
