Wow. No posts yet this month and I have been out of the PICU for a whole week now. And it has been a glorious week. Honestly I have been enjoying life too much to blog lately. And Wednesday I had an almost perfect afternoon. I am doing an outpatient elective with Christ Community Health Services this month- a separate post on that will come later. But I had a meeting Wednesday afternoon which finished early and I was able to head out to none other than the FedEx St. Jude Classic. I know I have written before about my internal debate between the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and the FESJC as to which is the best annual event in Memphis. It's still pretty close, but this year the FESJC may have the upper hand due to the one and only Timothy Richard Tebow. He was in town to play in the yearly celebrity FESJC Pro Am. So I headed out to the TPC at Southwind Wednesday with my sights set on Tim Tebow. I started out watching Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway, a well known Tiger great, and Jim McMahon, former Bears QB. Reportedly Mr. McMahon had 10 beers through the first 9 holes, so I guess that is about 1 under? All I know is that he was definitely playing barefoot and feeling pretty good when I got both of their autographs. Then came Timmy's group. And if you follow our blog at all you know that I have an unhealthy obsession with the man considering I was formerly an SEC hater and not a Florida fan at all before he played college football. Suddenly I became a huge SEC and Florida football fan, not only because he was one of the greatest college football players ever, but also because of the example and person that he has been- see Geoff Calkins article from the Commercial Appeal:
http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2011/jun/09/tebow-turns-out-signatures-like-tds/. Unfortunately, I was not one of the many autographs which he apparently gave throughout the day, which kept it from being a perfect day. In fact, I saw him give only a few in the time that I saw him, But I still got Urban Meyer's and got the chance to see Mr. Tebow. Not only that, but I got upgraded too, baby! I follow one of the local sports talk radio stations on Twitter who happened to be giving away free tickets to the Pavilion, which meant open bar and free food! So ultimately it was a great day to open up the best annual event in Memphis. I also went back out there today to see John Daly, Retief Goosen, and Sergio Garcia. And for those of you who are wondering, yes, we do have a 4 month old infant and I do plan on posting more about her now that she is doing new and exciting things. I am aware that you only care about the cute pictures. My day at the golf course is featured below. Please ignore the embarrassing interaction between my wife and I on Facebook regarding Mr. Tebow if you happen to follow either of us there.
