Race for the Cure 12

The last weekend of October we woke up early on a cold Saturday morning for the annual Race for the Cure. It was so cold that only me, my mom, my dad, and Sarah made it out there, but we had a good time just the same. I ran the 5K and felt pretty good about it, but there's just so many people there that it's hard to get started and get a good time. The others did the 1 mile walk I believe and then we all headed back to Arlington for the annual pancake breakfast at the firehouse.

This year has been especially hard and this was another great chance to celebrate my mom. Not only did I think about her when I was running that day, I think about her almost every time I run and think about all she's been through and how tough she's been. It makes my running seem like a pretty simple task in comparison. She keeps fighting and so do we and so do all the other women that we honored at the race. We'll keep doing so until there is a cure and then we'll still do it in celebration!

It was a very special day for me. It meant so much to have you, Sarah and Dad with me. We are fighting this everyday and we will keep it up.
