NOLA, Part 3

Sunday morning we went to Jackson Square after Cafe du Monde, but somehow I forgot to post the picture, and then it ended up as third in this series- see below. We spent most of the day in the Exhibit Hall getting more freebies and learning about various products, services, etc. We didn't really make it to lunch, so we cut out for most of the afternoon and went and enjoyed lunch, brews, and football at the Gordon Biersch across from the hotel. We rested for a little while before we headed to the lobby for a TN AAP reception where we did a little networking and met some people from around the state. I had another local brew, LA 31 Pale Ale, which was one of my favorites while we were there. Since we had a late lunch we headed out for music and a light dinner. We headed back to Frenchman Street and this time we found Maison, which had two great blues and jazz bands playing that night. I believe we had some crawfish and gator bites to enjoy during the music too.

The next morning we went out for brunch to a place called the Ruby Slipper, which was absolutely wonderful. Then we stayed around for a book signing by the son of one of our attendings at UT. So we got to meet him, get a book, and took a picture. After that we drove around St. Charles before finally having to leave town. We really didn't want to go. We had an awesome time and I'm ready to go back anytime now. A lot of the houses were decorated for Halloween in St. Charles so we even got out and took some pictures there. The last picture is just our view of the river from around the hotel. More to come about how the kids spent the weekend while we were gone!
