Monday we went to the Children' Museum and had lunch at Memphis Pizza Cafe. We drove by the new Midtown restaurant Chiwawa, which wasn't open yet, but I was able to snap a picture of their cool sign outside their patio. Tuesday we checked in to the DoubleTree Hotel in East Memphis. We loved getting chocolate chip cookies when we checked in! Mainly we wanted to be able to take Drew swimming. It was a little cool, but both Drew and Allie loved it. Drew picked up right where he left off, but Allie was really a little fish also. Katie's mom came and picked up Allie and then Katie, Drew, and me went to eat at Hog & Hominy! This time we got the pork rinds and I got another delicious pizza. Wednesday we ate donuts and Gibson's, swam again, and then saw the new movie, Oz, the Great and Powerful. It was really good and although Drew was scared at a couple parts I think he really liked it too. Thursday we got in a little spring training and I went up to work to find out who our program picked up for "Match Day." Friday we went to the zoo where we saw the new stingray exhibit and the pandas among other things. I touched the stingrays, which were really slimy, but Drew didn't want to do it. We finished with a perfect lunch on Bosco's patio.
The second weekend of Spring Break was also packed. We had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese before we headed to Tiger Lane on Saturday for the BBQ Fest. We had also been out there that Friday night where we had Brad's cake and party from the last post. Drew and Allie both tried their first Moon Pie there, but Drew wasn't very impressed as you can see. Allie loved that game at CEC, so much so that if we had one at the house I think we could keep her occupied the whole time. The pictures of everyone sleeping are from a series that I did that entire week. No matter where we went I was the only one awake while everyone else in the car slept. Every day. Everywhere we went. They could not stay awake. Katie got pretty mad that I kept posting these. We finished the break with our typical Sunday events, including lunch at Katie's grandmother where I got the last picture of Katie and Allie. It was a really fun week and we were glad we stayed in town. Despite all that we did we were able to relax some too. Hopefully we'll have more days like this coming up in the summer. Lots of pictures below!
