Grizzlies for a Day Part 2

After our tours we continued our day in the life of the Memphis Grizzlies. We went to the practice court where we were met by assistant coach Dave Joerger who went over the scouting report with us and talked to us some about the season and how the Grizzlies have become a defensive juggernaut. Then he went over some defensive drills with us and showed us how the Grizzlies approach their basic defensive sets. After that we did some offensive dribbling, passing, and shooting drills. My favorite part of the entire day was that we got to do the layup, free throw, three pointer, and then half court shot like you might see someone do at a halftime contest or something. If someone hit all 4 shots then they got a special prize. I was the first one to go and I promptly hit the layup, the free throw, and the three pointer. I lined up for the half court shot and I was almost dead on, but I hit the front left of the rim and it didn't go in. I still wish I had another chance at that shot, it was so close!

We relaxed for a little bit before we went and watched the shoot around from our court side seats. Unfortunately the Jazz elected to be on our end so it was difficult to see the Grizz. As they came off the court they were pointed in our direction and we were able to get a lot of autographs. Mike Conley could not have been a nice guy and stopped to take a picture and talk to us. Marc Gasol was also very nice and I got a picture with him too. Then we lined up in the tunnel and waited for the game to start. As the players ran out of the tunnel we got to give them high five and cheer them on. Then we settled in to our club seats and enjoyed our free food and drinks and the game as well. The Grizz dominated and Z-Bo broke out into playoff beast mode in a sign of things to come. It was an awesome experience and we had a ton of fun memories and pictures from the day!
