Redbirds Game

My wonderful wife informed me that Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright would be pitching at the Redbirds game Friday night and suggested that we go. I have taught my wife a lot about sports over the last ten years! We knew he would only pitch an inning or two, but did not expect him to leave the game after getting only two outs while letting up three runs. Hopefully he can return to form soon and get up to St. Louis in the closers role. The Cards have lost too many close games because of their bullpen lately. It wasn't like Drew was really interested in paying attention to the game for more than an inning or so anyways. He had fun watching Rocky the Redbird, who we call Fredbird to avoid any confusion with the real one, but wondered where he went after riding around the field on his four-wheeler. Then Drew was interested in everyone around us, talking to anyone who would or would not talk back. He also had a fun time touring the kids games with Dad. We left after about six innings, the Redbirds lost, but we still had a great time at the game. The last picture is from today at the park with Papa and Gigi. Now we are relaxing and watching the Olympics as Katie tries to get over a cold. Back to the MICU at the VA in the morning for me, then more fun with Drew!
