I had to work in the ER on my birthday last Thursday, so Katie, Drew, and my parents came down there to surprise me for dinner. They brought me Huey's and some cupcakes from Muddy's, as fashioned by Drew below. I knew Katie and Drew were coming, but it was great to see my parents and have the surprise of the dinner and cupcakes. I even got a couple presents, but the best was everyone's smiling faces. They sang me Happy Birthday and Drew gave me multiple chocolate covered hugs and kisses before I went back to work. The next night Katie and I went to eat at Bosco's before going to Minglewood Hall to see Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. The concert was called "A Neighborly Christmas" and was a mix of their regular songs and Christmas songs. It was really good and we had a great time, although there was again a lot of high schoolers and I thought that we probably could have had the concert in the ECS auditorium. The lead singer, Drew, is from Memphis and the band is from Nashville now. That's him and his wife Ellie, who is in the band also, below. They are really great and we have been listening to some of their Christmas songs and watching their video of "Baby It's Cold Outside" and our Drew has been loving it and singing to it. Check it out below. Then we went out to eat at Firebird's with my family the next night where Drew got Oreo's with his meal and all over his face. I got even more presents including a new camera that Drew and I are looking at below. The next night was dinner with Katie's family and yet more presents, so it was a great weekend. Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes and presents!
Yay for suprises on birthdays and Drew is too cute for words. As for the music... I LOVE this group. It doesn't hurt that it's one of my fav Christmas songs of all time, but I really want to hear more of them. very old school sound. Thanks for posting this!
