My Big Back Yard

Going back a few weeks here, but I was off on Good Friday and we took the opportunity to make our first trip to My Big Back Yard at the Memphis Botanical Gardens. We started the day with donuts and Allie got a blueberry one. When then went to the Gardens where it started out a little chilly. We walked through a few of the gardens, but quickly made our way to the backyard so Drew could play. We had a good time finding our way through mazes, playing on a large rope spiderweb, going in a huge birdhouse and sliding down, and going in and out of houses. One house was full of musical instruments which Allie attempted to play also. Drew took his shoes off and got in the creek, then stayed around for a "thunderstorm" and got soaking wet when the machine turned on and the lightning came down. We played in a large open area for a while to dry off before going to feed the fish and taking pictures on the bridge in the Japanese Garden. We finished up with lunch at Memphis Pizza Cafe. Allie was obviously tired as she started putting her food on her head and balancing it there, a sure sign that she is worn out and ready for bed. We had a great adventure at our first time at My Big Back Yard and I think we're all ready to go back again soon.
