Tiger Fan Day 12

Saturday was our annual visit to Tiger Fanfest to meet the players, the new coach, Pouncer, and TOM the Tiger. The new coach part of things is becoming as much of a tradition as the rest of it. We were worried about another disaster this year. It had been raining all morning, it was back at Memorial Field on campus, and the autographs were to be indoors. Similar to two years ago when it was burning hot, it was at Memorial Field, and the players were all in the Fieldhouse. Last year went so well at Tiger Lane- seems like a place made for this kind of thing. Luckily, this year turned out pretty well. The rain stopped after about 30 minutes, we made it just in time to see the players and band unload and go into the Rose Theater instead of the Fieldhouse for the autograph session. I love the first picture of me and Allie. It's how she looks any time you tickle her, which I was doing to try to get her to smile. She loves Tigers by the way. She will walk around going "roar!" anytime she sees a tiger or you mention the word. She's ready for the season. I think I've even heard her try to get out a couple of "T"s as she tries to start the T-I-G-E-R-S TIGERS cheer.

We saw TOM III who continues to get bigger and bigger. Drew had a blast with Pouncer. He is all about mascots these days. We had our annual picture of the three of us- Drew, me, and Pouncer. It was the first year Drew stood by himself and that I didn't pick him up. Makes me wonder how far off we are from him not wanting to do it at all. After that we got the players autographs- all of the players. Enough to fill up two posters. I guess it's nice to see everyone, especially when there probably isn't really enough good players to go around and pick and choose the "good" ones on this team. The players had a lot of fun with Drew, asking him a lot of questions and trying to talk to him. Mostly just trying though. He was pretty tired. Then we met the new coach, who was really nice and had his kids with him. Hopefully he'll be better than the last one. He really can't do any worse. We're ready for next weekend now! Look at the pictures below(the last two are from a legit photographer they had out there, which was a nice touch) and the YouTube video from the Memphis Tigers Network which features the Yauns!
