Way to Go Tupelo!

First, one more picture from the weekend after our vacation and after the Avett Bros concert. The next morning on Saturday I woke up early to go run the LeBonheur 5K Pumpkin Run. Katie was still busy with wedding activities, but my parents brought the kids out there to watch and Drew ended up getting a skull and crossbones painted on his face. Like I said we also had a birthday party that afternoon and then the wedding that night. Monday night we headed down to Tupelo so that I could take my Pediatrics Board test. Yes, Tupelo. One testing center closed down in Memphis so that there is only one here now and the testing times fill up quickly. So if the whole medicine thing doesn't work out we can open up some testing centers here. Hopefully it wasn't a bad thing to go to Mississippi to take it. But we were actually very impressed with Tupelo. The Comfort Inn and Suites that we stayed at was very nice, although one reason we stayed there was so that I could relax in the hot tub that they had and come to find out the heater wasn't working on it. But we went to a pretty good little place downtown called Stables the night before the test for dinner. I had a burger with 4 cheeses, bell peppers, and mushrooms on it. The place was downtown on their square and also had the Cardinals game on. Then we went back to the hotel to relax before the big day. The test went fine I guess. We'll find out in about another month. But I think I felt as good as you can after something like that. The best part was that it was over and we got to go to the Blue Canoe. It's a restaurant down there that we tried to stop and eat at on the way back from Orange Beach, but they didn't have highchairs. It had excellent reviews online though so we had to go back. It was a great, great place. They had a very extensive beer selection and I tried about 3 different ones. My favorite was an Abita Andygator. I had the Blue Canoe burger which had everything on it- including gravy, bacon, and a fried egg- see below, it was delicious. We even had some bread pudding for desert. You can see Charlie Brown below in the actual Blue Canoe. So we had a good trip to Tupelo and the Blue Canoe was so cool that I even thought that maybe we could live there after all. I could only imagine hearing some live music there. That was just the start to another week of travel. Next up is NOLA.
