Interview Trail, Episode 1: The Ohio State University

Katie and I hit the road, and the air, this past Wednesday for our first trip for interview season. It actually began a week ago Friday with my interview here at UT, complete with dinner the night before and a trip for lunch to wrap up the interview. But Wednesday morning we drove to Nashville and flew out to Columbus, Ohio, to visit The Ohio State University. We did a little sight seeing around campus that afternoon, and the campus was absolutely beautiful on this crisp fall day. There are pictures below of the Jack Nicklaus Museum that is on campus, one of numerous Heisman trophies that I saw in the athletic office, as well as their latest BCS Championship trophy that is housed there, and the football stadium which is called the Horseshoe. Of course I also had to dot the "i" with Bucky the Buckeye. We had dinner with all of the residents and some faculty at their journal club that night. The next day I had my interview and Katie did some shopping and checked out Columbus, which we both really liked. (I don't want to give away too much of my impression of things on here, because someone may Google me before all of this is over and see what I have said about their or other programs.) But we definitely enjoyed our time there. We left late that afternoon to head to my interview the next day at the University of Kentucky in Lexington-more to come on that one in the next post.
