'09 Vacay, The Rest

The next 4 days were perfect. We drove the rest of the way Saturday morning and made it into Gulf Shores for lunch time. We ate at Jimmy Buffett's sister's restaurant called LuLu's. We enjoyed a couple of cold beverages and some of the better food that we had on our trip. We had sat at the bar so that we didn't have to wait on a table, and towards the end of our meal we discovered that at the table behind us was LuLu herself. Unfortunately she didn't pay for our meal or give us her autograph or anything, although I'm not really sure what she is famous for other than her brother. We continued on to our condo in Orange Beach and immediately hit the beach. We had a late dinner at the Original Oyster House, where I had my favorite meal of the trip. It was blackened mahi-mahi with fried crawfish tails and some sort of delicious sauce on it. The next two days were mainly spent on the beach. We rented a large umbrella and two large wooden chairs to relax in. We read, swam, slept, and listened to music. The weather was perfect, not too hot and no rain. The second night we ate at Desoto's and the third night we headed to a new development called the Wharf. It was sort of like an outdoor mall, but with a marina, ferris wheel, movie theater, condos, and amphitheater. We ate at Guy Harvey's, where the food was pretty good, but we got to eat outside as the sunset looking over the marina. Then we rode the ferris wheel like little kids. The last day we spent mostly at the outlet malls and ate at Mellow Mushroom before we headed back to Memphis. There aren't a whole lot of pictures, because we didn't ask anyone to take pictures of just us, but here are a few.
