Trains and Dads

First a little catch up again. I had to include these pictures of Daddy's little helper. Drew wanted to help clean up our tree so I would cut some small branches for him to carry away. After we took a picture the first time he would pick the branch up and then tell Katie to take his picture every time. He was a good little helper though and we had a lot of fun.

Our first adventure last week was to the Pink Palace to see the new dinosaur exhibit, which Drew really enjoyed. Then Saturday we took a trip up to Jackson to see the train depot just south of downtown. Drew was in train heaven. They had a lot of neat historical items that he wasn't so interested in, but he loved the wooden train, a small train car that he could sit in, as well as the model trains. He got to sit up there and be the conductor, making different train sounds and directed different trains. It was a really neat setup of old time Jackson and surrounding depots. Then outside there were some old train cars that Drew got to run through and a real train whistle that we got to pull on and make some noise. After that we went and ate with Katie's mom and sister-in-law, Missy. We went back to their house and by then PawPaw and Kyle had come back from fishing and Drew got to watch the fish flop around and pretend to drive the boat.

Sunday we had lunch with Katie's family and dinner with mine as usual. We went to Corky's with my family for some Father's Day ribs. I got to spend a great day with my little man and watch some golf and baseball too. Drew and Katie gave me the new Tiger Woods golf game for the Wii, so I also spent some time playing that. Father's Day is so special now that I am a father. I love being Drew's father and I can't imagine a sweeter little boy. Thanks to my dad as well for always being a great father and always being there for me.
