I had vacation about two weeks ago and we decided to take a family trip to St. Louis. We left early Wednesday morning and headed for Sikeston, MO, and Lambert's Cafe, home of the throwed rolls. Drew was excited to go back and catch some more rolls again this year. One of the pass around waitresses liked him a lot and gave him a balloon which ended up being number 1 of 4 for the day- more later. I had a massive meatloaf, which was delicious, but didn't hold up to Gigi's meatloaf. Allie did great on the way up there and Drew did too.
Once we got to the hotel they both had a blast. Drew couldn't wait to jump on the bed, which is probably his favorite part of any vacation. We set up Allie's pack and play and Drew and her had the best time playing a game of him climbing on it and a little hide and seek or something. She was just cackling at him. The best thing in the world was hearing both of them laugh so much together. After we recharged for a little while we headed to Laclede's Landing to a microbrewery called Morgan Street Brewery that Katie and I had been to before a few years ago. I had a sampler and then Katie and I tried a couple other ones too. They were all delicious for the most part. I think I enjoyed the Steam Lager the best. We sat outside and enjoyed some live music playing across the street.
Drew kept busy playing Angry Birds, which ended up being his dinner time theme for the rest of the trip. This is also where the rest of the balloons come in to play. The greeter person at this restaurant liked Drew as well and kept giving him more of them. The first one he lost control of and it floated away. The second one he popped. The third one he finally kept and we let it go down by the river as we walked around looking at the water and the bridges. We called it an early night and headed back to the hotel so we could enjoy the rest of our trip. The rest of it is coming soon.
