Day 3 was spent at the St. Louis Children's Museum, The Magic House. Drew loves the Children's Museum of Memphis, so it was only natural that he would have a blast here too. We had fun with bubbles, even getting to stand in one. He had a couple encounters with electricity too. The second one is Drew and Katie with their hand on the electricity ball which made their hair stand on end. He also managed to do some shopping and work the register. The St. Louis Rams were having a tailgate party in the parking lot to kick off their new season, and Drew got to throw some footballs and make a Rams hat which he shows off below. Drew then took his turn at various government positions, including a judge, the President- seen in the Oval Office below, and speaking in front of Congress. He immediately passed out once he got in the car.
We then went back downtown where we planned to check out the Arch and the Cathedral. On our way down there some clouds moved in and it began to look like rain. It made for some really cool picture opportunities for the Arch though. I already knew that Katie didn't want to go in the Arch and someone would have to watch Allie anyways. I wasn't really sure about taking Drew, but luckily it was cloudy and windy and the decision was pretty much made for us to stay on the ground. Unfortunately it did end up starting to rain and we had to leave before getting to spend much time down there.
We went back to the hotel to rest before dinner. We went to another local microbrewery, the Schlafly Tap Room. The food and brews were both really good once again. We finished the night at the City Museum, a place that I don't think I have ever been to in all of my trips to St. Louis. It sort of a huge playground, with a ton of places to climb on and explore and the all kinds of slides to get you back down. It was a little difficult to squeeze into some spots and some of the slides were pretty steep. It didn't help to have to be worried about Drew's every step in addition to my own. We didn't get too daring and played it pretty safe, although we did go fairly high on one climb that took us to an airplane and then a castle. I know it sounds crazy, but it's really hard to explain. You'll just have to go there. I would like to go back when I can enjoy it more when Drew gets a little older maybe.
