The Fair Only Comes in September

This was always my father's go to quote when my sister or me complained to him that something wasn't fair. So, I thought it was only fitting to combine our trip to the fair and his birthday celebration into the same post. Indeed, they do always both come in September. We went to eat at Central BBQ and then played Putt Putt for his birthday. Drew has been so excited to go bowling and Putt Putt lately. We still have some work to do, but he has always been great about playing the right way and keeping the ball on the green. After our round we went inside and had some cookie cake and opened presents, which seemed to consist of a lot of shoes. Drew and Papa had to smell them all too. Papa also had his Grandfather's license renewed for another year- Spoil 'Em Good and Send 'Em Home.

We also went to the Delta Fair a couple weeks ago and introduced Drew to our favorite band, Sister Hazel. First, we rode a couple of the kiddie rides together and then we went to the concert. I was expected it to be very cookie cutter and to hear only their standards. The first half of the concert was exactly that, but during the second half they broke out things we hadn't heard them play live in a long time, including a couple songs I don't think we had ever heard live. It turned out to be a great concert and we had a great time, although Drew was easily distracted for the most part. Towards the end I put him on my shoulders and we went down front where we all had a blast. My mom came with us too and got to enjoy her first taste of Sister Hazel as well. After the music I had a Pronto Pup and Drew rode a couple more rides before we called it a night.
