A couple of weeks ago Drew had his first karate tournament. It was actually called the Bartlett Classic I think and was a little more friendly than Daniel-son and Johnny. There was no sweeping the leg and no body bags available. I did play Drew the montage from Karate Kid of the early parts of the tournament complete with "You're the Best" playing with it. Drew had practiced his routine, or "kata," for weeks at karate class and at home. He was a little scared to be out there at first in front of all the people. But he stuck it out and did a great job. He did his entire routine without leaving any parts out. We were so proud of him and he got a huge trophy! We celebrated with breakfast at Waffle House and then later that night we grilled BBQ chicken with Brad and Sarah. Drew thought it was a good chance to use his chopsticks that we got at the zoo for some reason. I guess he was really into the karate still. Allie opted for the spoon. She is still sampling vegetables these days with fruits to come soon. She does really well with the spoon for the most part. Time to watch football!
