FIrst Day of (Pre)School

Our lives changed forever about 3 weeks ago. Drew had his first day of preschool. We have waited until now due to a number of reasons- we've had a great babysitter and difficulty finding transportation to and from preschool have been the biggest two. But now that he is 4 we knew it was time for him to go and that he was ready. I was able to go in a little late and Katie took off so that we could both be there to take him. He was so excited. He had gone with Katie to pick out all of his school supplies to get ready. He took some real pictures, but had to throw in the crazy face pictures too. Katie and I held up pretty well I think, much better than we will next year I'm sure. I wanted to stay in the doorway of his class and watch all day if I could. But we met his teacher, hung up his backpack, and he was already busy doing a puzzle. The first day he came home and told us it wasn't real school because he didn't have homework. We've since found him some things to keep him occupied. He still loves it, although he won't tell us much about what he does. At least not when you ask him directly. It comes out in bits and pieces in the things he says and the songs he sings. It's so exciting to get to see how much he is learning and growing.
