Drew's First Haircut

In my post about the ensuing madness I realized I forgot to mention that Katie, Drew, and I will all be in the wedding this weekend. So, in anticipation of that, and against Katie's wishes, we all went to Fun Cuts yesterday to have Drew's hair trimmed for the performance. He really doesn't have all that much hair, but it had been sticking out over his ears for a while now and getting sort of long in the back too. Now he has even less hair. He did great though. This Fun Cuts place is especially for kids-they had a Wiggles DVD playing, a whole indoor play area a la McDonald's, and toys for when the cut was over. Drew sat still watching the movie and himself in the mirror. He acted pretty shy and didn't really say anything the whole time we were there. He would give a cute glance up every now and then as if to ask what in the world was going on. When he was done he got to pick out a sucker and then refused to take the balloon the man tried to give him. Then we went to McDonald's as we had promised him so he could get a chicken nuggets and apple slices Happy Meal, complete with a Spiderman toy. The only drawback was how expensive this place was to get a haircut. How much do you think it would cost to cut a 2 year olds hair? 5 or 10 bucks maybe? Try $18 plus tip. But in the end it was worth it. Drew cooperated and did exceptionally well and the guy was really great. We even got several snippets of hair to save. I think it will be a while until his next haircut though.

One week til Match Day!
